Vacation rental cleaning should follow the home's setup, whether the reservation came from Vrbo, Airbnb or a direct booking. For a St. Petersburg rental advertised on several channels, use one confirmed departure and arrival schedule and one room-by-room standard.
One home, one source of instructions
Keep the cleaning checklist with the property, rather than inside a single booking platform. Include the number of occupied beds, maximum towel setup, approved products and a photo of each finished room. If one channel permits pets or offers a different checkout time, make that visible on the job instructions.
Guests may spend a day at the St. Pete Pier or drive to a Gulf beach, but those outings do not tell you how much work a stay created. Ask the departing guest about spills and missing items; let the cleaner assess the condition on entry. Beach towels and indoor bath towels should have separate storage and replacement counts if both are provided.
Resolve scheduling conflicts early
- Confirm that cancelled or extended bookings reached the cleaning schedule.
- State which calendar and contact have the final say.
- Include time for laundry, access and the last room check.
- Flag early luggage drop-offs so they do not interrupt cleaning.
Request a repeatable scope
Explain whether each visit needs only a guest changeover or additional work such as an oven interior, patio cleanup or supply count. Confirm those tasks and their price before the appointment. Review same-day planning for tight gaps and the turnover checklist for a sample handoff.
